Significant investment within Liverpool City Centre has rejuvenated the area into a thriving cultural hub. Awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2008, the city is proud of its heritage as a diverse, culturally rich destination. Liverpool has so much to offer its visitors. Iconic landmarks such as the cathedral, the Pier Head, Albert Dock, Cavern Club, will automatically spring to mind, yet the city also has an extensive array of museums and galleries within its centre. Sport lovers may like to take a tour of either Liverpool (Anfield) or Everton (Goodison) Football clubs, or enjoy a day at Aintree Racecourse, famous of course for hosting the Annual Grand National.
The distinctive walled city of Chester is only 15 miles away from the Park Lane Holiday Home site. Chester is a fascinating city crammed with interesting sights, landmarks and places to visit. Chester Cathedral, the Roman Amphitheatre and Chester Visitor Centre all promote the city’s rich heritage.
Chester Zoo, home to more than 500 species of animals, including elephants, tigers, jaguars, birds, reptiles and mammals, also includes a prize winning zoological gardens featuring many water plants and would certainly appeal to both young and old.
