Situated just five miles from the Southport coast and under ten minutes from the market town of Ormskirk, Shaw Hall is a peaceful, family oriented holiday home site in the heart of the west Lancashire countryside on the banks of the Leeds to Liverpool canal at Scarisbrick. The static caravan site appeals to couples, groups and families as an ideal base to enjoy the scenic Lancashire surroundings, and those wishing to relax and unwind.

As the site is open all year round, it’s perfect for spur of the moment weekend breaks and longer holiday stays to visit the surrounding locality.
The on site bar and restaurant facilities are thriving social hubs for relaxation, leisure and entertainment. The bar serves a wide selection of fine ales, wines and spirits, and features entertainment to suit all ages. Sky Sports channels, with its wide ranging of screened sporting events, is available within the bar area, as well as pool tables and a children’s den area complete with DVDs and Play Station activities.
Live evening entertainment is regularly included and the spacious outdoor beer garden is perfect for relaxing and socialising with friends, family and neighbouring holiday home owners. There’s also an outdoor lawn bowling green and a fully equipped children’s play area.
A wide variety of food is available – either at the caravan site’s restaurant which serves good wholesome pub food with takeaway facilities or via the Just Eat app where cuisine from local restaurants can be delivered to the park site. Shaw Hall Holiday Park also welcomes supermarket deliveries from Morrisons and Asda.
Shaw Hall backs onto the Leeds to Liverpool canal – a favourite location for seasoned walkers, those out for a pleasant stroll or simply taking dogs for scenic walks. Waterside routes include designated walking and cycle paths, canoeing and kayaking sections, lochs, wildlife sanctuaries and pretty canal side towns and attractions along its 127 mile journey between Leeds and Liverpool.
Scarisbrick and beyond
The small village of Scarisbrick stretches between Ormskirk and Southport and has a good selection of pubs, restaurants, farm shops and cafes, rainbow trout fishery, and a golf course.
Neighbouring Southport is a large seaside town crammed with attractions, activities, entertainment and shopping facilities for all the family. Of particular note are the long sandy beaches and panoramic sea views, perfect settings for building sandcastles, flying kites or paddling in the sea. With parking facilities on the beach, what could be more convenient?
Southport contains an interesting combination of shopping facilities – markets, quaint independent locals, boutiques, high street chains, department stores and a shopping centre set within a Victorian Listed façade. Al fresco café style dining, cinemas, bowling alley and tourist facilities add to the vibrant buzz of this thriving resort.
In contrast, the historic market town of Ormskirk has a more sedate feel. Of interest is the annual Ormskirk MotorFest motoring extravaganza held each August Bank Holiday, and Farmer Ted’s Farm Park, an interactive children’s activity park sited on a working farm. However, both Southport and Ormskirk, as well as the wider Lancashire area, have a vast programme of annual festivals and parades as well as sporting, leisure and shopping facilities.
